What can I make with Mozzarella and tomatoes?

You can make caprese salad. Just slice the tomatoes and cheese and layer on a plate in sort of a fan shape. You can chop fresh basil to sprinkle on top or use the whole basil leaves as a third layer. Drizzle the whole with a bit of olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Delicious with all the fresh tomatoes available in the summer.

I agree on the Caprise - yummy! Also if you have some bread, make Bruschetta. Chop tomato with basil, course salt, pepper and shredded mozzarella. Broil in the oven.

We are snowed in and all we have is some pasta, tuna, onion, and frozen peas. What can I make with these ingredients?

By Herb G

You can make tuna casserole if you have any cream soups just cook the pasta and add all the ingredients listed and one can of any kind of cream soup with one can water or milk and bake in 350* oven for 30 minutes or until hot. Or you can make buttered pasta with tuna patties and creamed peas. Cut up the onions and saute them.

Add to the tuna and one egg small amount of cracker or bread crumbs and make into patties and fry in a frying pan. Heat the peas in some broth or milk about 1 cup add a flour paste to make a gravy and if you have the milk add just enough to flavor if using broth. Salt and pepper all to taste.

Cook pasta as per package instructions and drain. Slice and fry the onion (and any garlic if you have it) till nice and brown in oil - butter will do if you don't have any oil but use a low heat since butter may burn on high heat. Add the frozen peas, mix in the drained tuna and combine everything with the pasta.

Top with parmesan if you like.

Lovely meal which we happen to make often at home but I sometimes add a can of tomatoes as well after the onions are cooked and leave it to simmer for about 10 minutes. It's even better but I don't know if you have any. it's still very good without them.

What can I make with pork chops, carrots, onion, sweet potato, and can of french onion soup?

By Chris

Answers

December 6, 20110 found this helpful

I love french onion soup!
Trim any extra fat off the chops, and season the chops up well with salt and pepper. Cut the vegetables up into about 1 inch pieces. (Peel the sweet potatoes first).

If you have a 'crock pot', put the veggies in first, then top with the chops. Mix the soup (if it is condensed) with about 1/2 cup of water or broth, and pour over top of all. Cover and cook on low about 6 hours till the veggies are all tender.

You can them remove all the meat and veggies, and if the 'gravy' is too thin, turn the pot on high, leave the lid off, and let it thicken. Just keep an eye on it, and stir often.
You can serve that hot cooked rice, noodles, bread, and salad.

Sounds yummy to me! Best of luck to you!

What can I make using ricotta cheese, linguini, ground beef, butter, cream, pancake mix, bananas, apples, garlic, and green onion?

By Omp from Chicago

Answers

October 6, 20110 found this helpful

I would brown the burger with the garlic. Saute the green onion and mix with the burger - set aside. In the same pan, make a simple white sauce with the butter and cream, using canned broth to stretch it, if you have some. Otherwise, just thicken with cornstarch and water. An alternative is to add a jar of spaghetti sauce to the meat and save your cream and butter for dessert.

For dessert, make crepes, by thinning the pancake batter. Add some powdered sugar to the ricotta to sweeten it. Saute the bananas and/or apples (separately) in butter until soft. Top the crepes with the sweetened ricotta and fruit. Use the cream in your coffee!

What can I make with frozen cheese ravioli, frozen chicken breast, and a jar of Alfredo sauce?

By colliesr

Answers

May 28, 20110 found this helpful

If you have or could get a small can of tomatoes, you will have a yummy meal. You slice chicken breast in half horizontally (fillet them). If you have on hand, bread crumbs then dip them in some water or egg and drag them thru it both sides coating them well. Bake on pan sprayed with cooking spray or a little oil to prevent sticking. Bake on one side for about 20 minutes turn them on the other side, add the can tomatoes drained of all juice, then a little alfredo sauce of the sauce to cover the tomato, bake for about 15 minutes til done. If you don't bread them then you can cut into small cubes about 1" and saute them in oil it lightly browned, then add can tomatoes, (drained of tomatoe juice first.) Heat sauce, cook ravioli according to directions. Viola, dinner is served! Hope this helps.

You could make it like lasagna, except cook the ravioli according to package and then boil your chicken in a little bit of water til done. Then layer the cheese ravioli on the bottom of the pan and put your cooked chicken(shredded) on top of the ravioli. Then pour the alfredo sauce on top of that. Put in the oven and bake til all is bubbly and heated thoroughly. Yum yum! That sounds so good. Wish that I had those ingredients right now. This is a good recipe for those that are on a restricted diet due to acid reflux and peptic ulcers and can't have fried foods or foods with tomatoes due to the acid content.

You could make a "cheeseburger pie"...although you didn't say now many servings you needed.

Basically, it's a recipe my mom made. She layered the bottom of a casserole dish with a thin layer of tomato sauce. Then, she sauteed ground beef, onions (and sometimes green pepper or celery, if we had some), seasoning it with salt, black pepper and garlic powder. Then she topped the cooked meat layer with shredded or diced cheese (She usually made two sets of layers but you don't need to). Just add more tomato sauce, and finish it off with a layer of bread crumbs.

Heat in a 350F oven until the crumbs are browned, maybe 15 minutes. Or you could use your biscuit dough, that would be even better! Cook the casserole until the biscuits are done, at the temperature and however long it says to cook them.

It was pretty cheap, and it tasted good. She also served it with wedges of lettuce, if we had some, so it really was like a cheese burger.

Leave out the fish and soy sauce and put everything else in a crock pot. That is the ingredients for amazing soup that I call "end of the month soup" where I put whatever I have in the fridge and cupboards. Add enough water or better yet broth to cover and cook overnight. If you have some rice about 2 hours before you serve it, throw that in too.

I would brown the cut up chicken in oil, add your chopped green onions, celery, small amount of grated ginger, 1 tsp. at the most, 3 Tbsp. soy sauce, 2 tsp. garlic paste, and one can pineapple chunks with the juice. Simmer till vegetables are tender, add sprouts about 1 minute before removing from heat.
Spoon over your cooked rice. Stir fry! That sounds good, I may have to try that. You have great ingredients! :)

I would crumble and brown the ground beef, chop the onions, add the rice, add a large can of diced tomatoes, maybe 2 teaspoons garlic powder, 1 1/2 tsp. salt, 1 envelope taco seasoning. Simmer till rice is tender, maybe 25-30 minutes.
You could eat as is with warm bread, or spoon into tortilla shells and top with cheese. Sounds good to me!:)
For a different flavor, you could substitute the taco seasoning for Italian seasoning.

I would brown the hamburger, chop up the rest of the ingredients, add to pot. Add enough beef bullion cubes to correspond to how many cups of water you added. Add a can of stewed tomatoes for an even richer flavor.
Simmer around 1 hour to let flavors blend and vegetables soften. You will now have a decent beef stew.:)
Pair with rolls and a salad and you're good to go!
