It depends whether you want brand new or can take a used one. For new I would recommend Sam's Club or a scratch and dent store. For used try freecycle.... some people can afford to get brand new before the old ones fall apart.

Check out the thrift stores such as the GoodWill or the Salvation Army Store. If you find a TV which is affordable, make sure that you test it out first before you buy it.

Repair shops sometimes sell TVs that people have left and not picked up for the repair fee.

YARD SALES! I bought 3 for 5.00 apiece. I still use them. They were in excellent shape.

With so many people upgrading to flat and plasma screens - many old (perfectly usable) larger televisions will be put out on the curb for the trashman.

My boyfriend and I live in Southeastern KY. We are both disabled and living on disability. We have to budget everything, from electricity to groceries, every month. We are members of several store loyalty programs that automatically apply coupons to your purchase, which helps a lot.

You can also use clip coupons along with that to add extra savings. Just about every store has a loyalty program now and you should be able to easily sign up online or at the store itself, just ask a clerk.
