My tropical fish tank leaked into the cupboard, we didn't notice the leak for a few days. The carpet around the tank was very wet. I have cleaned the carpet with a antibacterial wash and this has got rid of the smell in my carpet. I have washed the cupboard with white vinegar and placed some in the cupboard for a few days, but the smell is still there, it's awful! I really don't know what else to do.
Buy Nok-Out. You can get it at Amazon.
You can try leaving charcoal in there, too.
sprinkle baking soda on the surface...leave it on overnight or as long as it takes...may take a couple repeats...baking soda cleared up a rotten potato smell in my cupboard.
I've had a musty, moldy smell under my bathroom sink for a few months now. I cannot find a water leak nowhere. I've left the cabinet door open so it'll air out, but it still smells. The towels under the sink feel damp when touched and smell moldy.
Then, in my kitchen I found green mold in my cabinets. I cleaned it up with Tilex, but it came back a few days later. I still cannot find a water leak. We finally determined it's where our crawl space in attic wasn't ventilating well after a tin roof was put on. We've added vents up there, but I want to make sure the mold is gone. How do I do that and get rid of moldy smell under cabinets?
A solution of bleach and water will get rid of the mold. You might want to keep those cabinet doors open for awhile to air it out.

We bought a older home (1890) about a year and half ago. My problem is that my cupboards smell musty. I was wondering if their was anything I could put in them or hang in them to help with the smell.
