I have very light unfinished oak cabinets, a mostly light beige to brown speckled granite counter tops, a brownish rectangular brick vinyl flooring, white trim, and almond appliances. What color should I paint the walls? Should I stay with beige/brownish hues or go with a heritage greenish color?

I have oak cabinets and really hate the grain pattern. I don't mind the tone of the cabinets. I am going to paint the walls and ceiling and would like to take the eye away from the cabinets toward other features in the room. Suggestions for colors? Thanks.

My son has oak cabinets, white appliances, and white tile counter tops with grey grouting. The flooring is linoleum that is white with light blue square accents. He hopes to upgrade to bamboo flooring. What color should he paint the walls? White is so boring.
