How do I get rid of green hair? I just put a toner over my bleached hair and it turned green. What can I do?
Fixing your hair:
Red dyes will eliminate greens. You can put one in, even a red-brown, for a short amount of time, wash it out, and it should even out.
I dyed my hair brown this past weekend over bleached hair. It now has a green tint. I read about using red hair dye to cancel out the green, but what I am worried about is if I dye it using a red dye, will my hair will have a red tint?
I don't want auburn hair or even red tinted hair and so I am worried that if I use the red to cancel out the green, I will get that red shade.
Can anyone tell me if that happened to them?
Anytime you dye your hair over bleached hair the results aren't guaranteed. The bleaching agent in the hair can react differently to each type of dye on the market.
Re dying your hair so soon can also damage your hair. Experts say it is best to wait 4 weeks before re dying your hair.
If your hair is green now I wouldn't recommend using a red dye on your hair to remove the green tint.
I would go to a hair professional and see what they suggest. They can determine if your hair is damaged, the best way to remove the green color, and the safest way to dye your hair the color you want.
You don't need a red dye but a red-based brown dye. Dyes are from blue-black tones and red tones and the red will cancel out the blue.
We bleached my daughter's hair blond several months ago and she wanted to go back to a light brown. We used Garnier Nutriesse Light Ash Brown.
That was a big mistake! Now her hair is a gray/green. Please help! Does anyone know how we can fix this at home?Often, if you have chlorine in the water, this can happen. Some beauty shops even have filters to remove the chlorine from their water in the shop.
You need a red based brown to eliminate the green. Garnier Nutrisse carries a nice red/brown line that will probably help a lot. The tones are labeled in the upper right hand corner of the packages.
I recently dyed my hair blonde and the lady that did it messed it up so I just ended up going back to brown. Now I've noticed that my hair is turning green.
Is there anything I can do without damaging it more? Please help. The best and cheapest way to resolve khaki hair is tomato ketchup ! Just slather it on , leave for a few minutes then rinse , easy and cheap for holidays after using swimming pools , good luck !
I would go back to the hair stylist and complain in a nice way and have her fix it for free.
My hair is the ugliest medium brow and I tried to lighten it with Revlon Colorsilk dye now my hair looks green. How can I fix it then lighten it to a golden blonde?
Basically the only way to tun brown hair to a lighter blond color is to strip out the natural hair color first and then dye your hair with the color you want. There is a product called Sun In and I think they sell this in most stores.
My hair was blonde on the bottom and I recently dyed it brown, but the part that was blonde turned green. How can I fix that? Can I just re-dye the green part brown again?
Here is a great article: www.leaf.tv/
What happened is that blonde hair has no red pigment. Brown has equal parts of red, yellow and blue.
I went to a parlor and got my black hair bleached to get blue and purple highlights. But unfortunately, the majority of it is an ash green colour. I was thinking of fixing it by bleaching again. I can't exactly visit a specialist cuz it's way too expensive over here. What do I ask the salon ladies to do?
It looks like that due to the residual colours stuck in the bleached hair. You'll have to use a colour remover like Color Oops or Joico Eraser. You can get them at beauty supply shops or online. Read the directions to apply, then you have a fresh palette of hair to work with.
My blond hair turned green when I was trying to do the ombre with brown color. I went and bought bleach and a medium ash brown.
Can I bleach the green out, because from my understanding ash brown will turn it green also? The color you applied probably had a green base, which your hair absorbed. Fix it by getting a color with reddish tones.
I have my hair balayaged and I got that done about a year ago. I dyed my hair red semipermanently over a week ago and it's all washed out now, but I'm left with green streaks in my hair not just at the ends.
Can someone tell me how to fix this without dyeing my hair again? You need to counteract the green with the opposite color base, red. People have used ketchup or tomato juice instead of dye. I personally would use a dye with a red base.
I dyed my hair from an orange/blonde to a light brown and there's a slight green in it today. Can I dye my hair dark brown tomorrow?
I am very dye shy and would not recommend turning around and trying again just to protect your hair health. I am sure there are a lot of experts on the site who have had no issues with this...but it make me nervous.
That said, if I have a hair fail, I try to make the best of it and embrace the fail...since color is so in for hair these days...maybe you could rock the green like it was intentional! Make a statement with it!
The other school of thought is just to find a style that hides it for for two weeks or so until it is safe for your hair to redo it. Buns are my go to. I will leave that to the experts for safe times....next day tho, that is not a hair healthy move in my word, but I am a safety (health) first person!
Wishing you all the best!!
If you used permanent dye, you should not. If it was temporary, you can.
Go for a semi permanent either way, and you will be okay.
before you redye it again, please try this trick! no joke, apparently ketchup works to neutralize the green and make your hair awesome again.
It worked for this blond lady here fashionista.com/
the red neutralizes the green, as well as the acids neuralize the other chemicals. IN any event that's the theory
I had wonderful deep purple hair using Arctic Fox Purple Rain hair dye. I have a job opportunity that I need normal hair for. My natural color is a darker ash blonde, so I used Light Ash Brown from L'oreal. And all of my hair is green now.
It looks like when I was a kid and the chlorine turned it green. How do I fix this? Also, some of the purple decided to stick around because of how thick my hair is.It sounds like you have an important interview coming up, so I would recommend finding a trusted stylist and having him/her do the fix...vs. risking having yet another issue. There are a zillion things you can try...but why risk it?
The other thought is, if you don't have time for a stylist visit, can you fix your hair in a way that makes the color issue less noticeable...like an up do?
I will send up lots of positive thoughts that you can get a quick resolve AND that you get the job!!
A color with a red base will cancel out the green. If you want a professional to supervise and save money, go to a beauty school.
You'll have to use a red toned blond dye. Sometimes when blond hair has a green tone, even something like ketchup will clear it out. No joke!
I dyed my dark brown hair with a bleach dye. Then it turned yellow, so I added blue and now it looks green. Someone help please it's ugly.
Yellow and blue mixed equals green. Your best bet would be to go to a salon and get it fixed
If you want it more blue, just add more blue. I have blue to green ombre hair and when the roots start going green, I just touch up with blue.
When this happened to me, the company told me to get a bleach kit and redo mine. It worked but it does damage your hair....lots of conditioning will be needed.
