Selling Danbury Mint Shirley Temple Dolls?

Selling Danbury Mint Shirley Temple Dolls
Danbury Mint Shirley Temple dolls can vary in value depending on the specific doll you have. An on-line search on sites such as Etsy can help identify your doll and offer a possible range of value. The value of mass produced dolls can be disappointing. The ease in selling one will be based on demand.

I have five 1982 Danbury Mint Shirley Temple dolls. I am wanting to know how I can sell them. They're still in the box and the original wrapping.

Danbury Mint dolls are mass-produced, and not worth more than $25-$35, even if never opened.

Doll collectors only buy dolls from famous doll makers and not ones that are mass produced. Normally during the holidays it is easier to sell these types of dolls. You might be able to find a buyer, but you'll need to really lower your price.

You could probably sell the doll off for around $10 and maybe a person would buy it from you. Unfortunately, there are way too many dolls like this listed online and most of the listings are cancelled because the dolls didn't sell.

These are cute dolls and Shirley Temple is popular but, sadly, there were just too many produced and the value is very, very low.

  • Presently there are over 700 Danbury Mint Shirley Temple dolls listed on eBay.
  • There were about 350 of this brand doll sold over past several months and most sold for under $25.

  • Dolls are very slow sellers and very difficult to pack (safely) and ship.
  • There are some of these dolls listed on Etsy for higher asking prices but they are still slow sellers and may never sell at these prices.
  • I believe you would realize more money if you listed on your local auctions sites (especially Craigslist) as you could list each doll and start your price at $50-$60 and lower it if no one shows an interest.
  • You could always meet someone at a public place so they could see the dolls in person as this is a good selling point.
  • Craigslist is easy to use and mostly free but you would need photos of each doll (cell phone photos work). Listing instructions are on the site.

I see them posted online starting at $30, going up to $150 (but I don't see them as sold)

Yes and you will probably still see them sitting there at that price. I mean you can price anything whatever you want, but it doesn't mean anyone will buy them. I have been a collector for years and the very first advice you got is so true.
