I have bought a 100 ft water hose and have it stored in an open container similar to a large planter. I need it to be covered and protected from the weather and debris. Any ideas on what to use for some sort of lid that would stay in place and not look extremely tacky?
Do you have any old pot covers that will fit over it or some sort of lid you can make as a cover?
I would get one of those Rubbermaid containers. A used childrens sandbox with a cover would also work
I have seen people use the same size pot upside to make a "lid" it looks like this (although these people use it as a smoker):
If you wanted to go fancy, you could decorate the whole thing to look like a face or have some neat paint pattern on it to give it a focus/focal point look.
Just be careful if both are ceramic--the top one can get blown off in the wind and break. The plastic ones will blow off just because they are light. You could try to glue something in the inside to give it a little weight (like some rocks glued to the bottom--not making it too heavy to lift, but just to give it a bit of weight).
Post back what you decide!
