Spring Maintenance: Gutter TipsSpring is a good time to examine your gutters and see if they
need to be cleaned. Here are some gutter tips.
Cash in on Recycling DepositsThis seems obvious, but it's still a good tip. Here is California we are charged a surcharge when we buy soda. I always recycle the cans and bottles at a recycling center instead of just throwing them away. This way is better for the environment, and I get money back!
Buy Cheese Cheap and Freeze ItBuy chunks of cheese when it is on sale for around $2 per pound. Grate it in the food processor and store it in zip-locs bags in the freezer. Whack the bag of cheese on the counter to loosen it up, and use straight from the freezer in casseroles, etc.
Prevent Roaches and Ants with Boric AcidWhen I was growing up, we used Boric Acid powder around our baseboards in the kitchen, around the backsplash on the counters and in the drawers and cabinets to prevent roaches, ants, etc.
Caring for Suede and Leather FootwearSuede footwear is expensive and difficult to care for. Suede is one of the few materials which cannot be cleaned successfully with water.
Paper TipUse the opposite side of paper in your printer instead of wasting it. Many times when I initially put in a new ink cartridge it takes a few sheets before it comes out clear. So I save the paper and use it when I copy recipes. Who cares if the back is not perfect as no one sees it any way. Happy printing.
