Use Wine Glasses to Hold BalloonsFor my husbands 40th birthday, we were on a tight budget. Instead of purchasing weights for the dozen balloons that I bought, we tied them to water glasses with a stem, and put a bit of foil confetti in the bottom of each glass, and then sprinkled some on the table as well. The effect was elegant, yet cost very little. The party was huge success! By Katharine Barrett

Making Scrambled Eggs For a Large Group Of PeopleWhen making scramble eggs for a large group of people, once eggs are scrambled, add a tablespoon of sour cream and stir the eggs to coat. It will keep the eggs from turning green in the bowl. As far as the taste goes you can't even taste the sour cream. I did this for a large family brunch and it worked well. By Nancy J

Worn Out Cuffs? Make A Short Sleeved ShirtMy husband works in an office environment and wears long-sleeved shirts every day. When the cuffs start getting frayed, but the rest of the shirt is still fine I make a short-sleeved shirt by cutting off the bottom part of the sleeve and hemming it up on my sewing machine. Make a Fire Extinguisher CoverIt might not be illegal in your area, but it would certainly be very irresponsible if you don't have at least one fire extinguisher in your home. Yes, I know they are ugly dust catchers. However, it's easy to make good looking covers for them.

Just wanted to say "thank you"I just want to say thank you so much for all of the quick and simple recipes that everyone submits. I care for my uncle 24/7 that lives with me. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer's last year, and, depending on the kind of day he is having, I don't always have time to cook up a large meal. The recipes submitted here are quick, easy and nutritious. You guys don't know how much I appreciate you and your recipes. Jenny in KY

Organizing Yarn When Making A Hook RugTake a yard of material and fold 3/4 of it up and sew in squares like a shoe organizer. Use this for your yarn when making a hook rug. You can tape the number and the color of thread on each square so you can use it over and over with each rug.

Don't Salt Roast Until CookedFor a delicious roast, do not add salt until almost done. Salt added earlier in the cooking time coaxes the juices out. Unless You are making stock for soup or stew, wait until 20 minutes before done. Then salt as You wish. By Chell
