Don't dig that dirt, do this. Lay sheets of newspaper on the spot you pick for a garden. Cover the spot in the papers and then pile on dirt and compost. Water it and let it sit. In a few months then plant your flowers. You can use cardboard in place of newspapers. Doing this kills the grass weeds etc. and it is so easy to garden this way.
Keeping Peeled or Sliced Apples from Browning
Coat peeled apples with a little lemon juice to keep them from browning quickly. Or toss them into a basin of water with a pinch of salt in it.
Peeling Hard-Cooked Eggs
Tap the egg on the counter all over to crack the egg shell in several places. Rub the cracked egg between your hands to loosened the eggs shell. Then dip the egg in a bowl of ice cold water and begin peeling.
