Healthy Pear VinaigretteYou would never guess there is no oil or added sweetener to this delicious vinaigrette. The pureed ripe pear gives off a creamy consistency and a sweet dimension. It's so well rounded, you only need a few ingredients. If you prefer your dressing thinner, just add water and mix well.
Cottage Cheese-Yogurt SaladThis salad is based on two items that I don't particularly care for individually, but taste wonderful when combined. Here are two versions, that is especially good for the warm months. It is quick, healthy, inexpensive, and there can be so many combinations with the choices of ingredients and spices. The recipe here is for one person, and can easily be increased for more people.
Quick and Easy Potato SaladOne lonely leftover baked potato in my refrigerator and scallions in my garden inspired me to try making potato salad. It was so successful that I now make baked potatoes especially for this recipe. A great summer side!

Successful Vacation TipsDon't "advertise" your trip before or during on Facebook, Twitter or other social media. This includes posting photos while on your trip. Wait until you return home to announce you just returned and post of your adventures. Many home burglaries are the result of people who watch for people to announce their schedules online.
Dealing With GnatsSadly, I've had to admit that gnats are attracted to me. I assure you, it is a one sided affair.
Ezra and Adelaide (Ducks)Back in the springtime, around the end of April I was on our boat dock fishing. I looked under our picnic table and saw a single egg, just sitting there all alone on the dock. It was if the mother duck just hopped up on the dock, laid an egg and left!
Morning Glories Not Blooming?I currently have morning glories in containers trailing up trellis. The foliage is beautiful, but here are no blooms. Come to find out they don't require fertilization, thus the reason why there may be no blooms. My question is can I replace the soil in my planters and eventually get blooms this year?
Removing Spoiled Food Odor from Microwave?Food was left in the microwave for two weeks. How do I get the nasty smell out of my microwave? I was gone for 2 weeks and I have no idea who left a plate of food in the microwave. I cleaned it with a water and bleach mixed and Dawn dish soap. I have even let it stay open for a while, but it still stinks!
Power Out in One Room?Last night the power went out in the bedroom. The lights where flickering and the fan was starting and stopping. I checked the breaker box and none where tripped. Other rooms on the breaker had power. I reset the breakers and the bedroom is still out. All outlets do not work and the ceiling light is not working.
