bowl of Ginger Coconut Glass Noodle Soup

Ginger Coconut Glass Noodle SoupIf you need some comfort in the form of soup, here is a great recipe for you. Its chicken stock and coconut milk base makes it creamy, while the ginger root and lemon give it a lively zing. I added glass noodles to keep it hearty yet light. This is a wonderful recipe to have around for cold and flu season.

On The Bayou - Cypress Trees - cypress trees in a Louisiana swamp

On The Bayou - Cypress TreesWhile staying in a cottage near a swamp in Louisiana, we had this beautiful view of the cypress trees, casting a reflection on the water, while hearing the insects chirping and cautiously looking for gators stealthily creeping up from the swamp.

Lights On! (Banana Flower) - purple banana flower with green fruit near top of photo

Lights On! (Banana Flower)This was by far one of the most unusual botanical flowers I saw while going through the Waimea Valley in Hawaii. The stem looks like the arm of an adjustable lamp while the actual flower part of the plant looks like a light bulb with a globe on the top of it.

Identifying Insect EggsFound these cluster of about 100 small white squishy eggs just under the surface of some soil around my garden when I was weeding and haven't seen anything quite like them before. I currently live in Southern California in Riverside and over the past week we have had an unusual amount of rain. They weren't far down underneath the soil at all, only about two inches or three maybe max.

Identifying a Bug Found in My Bed

Identifying a Bug Found in My BedI woke up in the middle of the night and felt an itchy spot on my body which quickly grew from small to pretty big. I first thought bed bugs because I had them years ago before living where I am now (which I got rid off when I left for school). So I pulled back my blanket and found this singular bug that was not a bed bug, looked nothing like one in any state and it could also jump/fly.

Value of a Living Webster 1967 Dictionary

Value of a Living Webster 1967 DictionaryI came across this big thick dictionary that I planned on hollowing out and making it into a hidden storage thing... just for funzies. I opened it up and in the letter S section, about 20 pages were put in upside down! The cover is not in good shape. Is this worth looking into, or should I use it for my crafty idea?
