Making Art From Costume Jewelry?I am at the point where I have enough jewelry and am ready to start. I bought Elmers Repositioning Glue to adhere the fabric to the cardboard and E6000 for the permanent bond for the jewelry and fabric attachment. Though, I am apprehensive about starting. I am wondering how deep the jewelry is and if the weight of the larger pieces will hold up once glued. I keep thinking the fabric will pull away from the cardboard once it's in an upright position! I guess I need encouragement!

A homemade fishing lure.

Tootsie Roll Wrapper Fishing LureOnce when I went fishing, I caught a fish in the ocean using a shiny metal lure. I decided to make my own lure out of a Tootsie Roll candy wrapper with a little bit of a semi melted tootsie roll. I squished it and used the wrapper and twisted it and twisted it again and again to make a replica of a fish. The finished Knitted 3D Wire Heart

Knitted 3D Wire HeartYou don't need expensive materials and special tools to make beautiful jewelry. To make this original heart, you only need wire from an old transformer and knitting needles. A sleeve on a mug.

Easy Sock Top Mug SleeveI used a child's sock and cut it off where the ribbing ended and made a mug sleeve. I did add a little embroidery but it's just fine as is, if you just want a basic sleeve for your mug. Super easy and a cute little protector for your hands.

The completed plastic flower.

Flower from Plastic BottleYou can make a beautiful flower from a simple plastic bottle. I used an iron to make this flower, not a candle flame. The hottest iron is not hot enough to melt plastic, so you won't ruin your iron or get charred edges on the petals, but it will be enough to make the flower petals curved. I also like this method because, unlike a candle flame, you cannot stain the petals with soot.

The completed recycled magazine art.

Recycled Magazine ArtI made this as a gift for a friend who has a band called Black Cat Road. I used the back of a broken guitar, magazine page (black for the cat), sheet music, black shoelaces for the trim, and I attached a mini washboard, as the lead singer plays a washboard.
