cake pans in tubI have quite a few cake pans that were taking up valuable space in my pantry. I don't use them enough to have them out all of the time so I decided to put them into a large storage tub. I wanted to make it easy to know what was in the tub so I typed up a list of what was inside. I included the sizes and shapes of each pan which will also help prevent rebuying things I already own.

I use two magazine racks. One is for baking sheets of various sizes. The other is for cooling racks and cutting sheets and boards. They take up very little space, while keeping all pans organized by size. It also frees up the space under the sink which is where I had them before.

I don't use cake tins often and I always have to measure them to ensure I have the right size. I painted the sizes (in centimetres) of the tins on their sides with ceramic paint and baked them in the oven to set the paint.

Now, no more searching for a ruler when I make a cake or flan.

I use mail organizers to store my baking sheets. They come in plastic and stainless steel. I use the stainless steel and they do give a bit if the sheet is a little too deep for it to fit.

I found over time, I had accumulated many Wilton Cake Pans. I began storing them in bins by holidays and then ran out of room and started hanging them on the walls of our two car garage.

Here's an economical way to organize cookie sheets or anything that can stand on its side. Go to your local builders supply and get some unfinished corner molding. It usually comes in 8' lengths, so have the store employee cut it into 12" sections, or whatever length you prefer. When you are ready to install these, simply use a couple of finishing nails to hold them in place on a lower section of your cabinets, and in 10 minutes, you can have eight wonderful organizers for about $2.00.

That is a great idea, now why didn't I think of that. I use an old plastic sink dish holder. The kind that fits down in the sink. Works great, but I think I will try yours.....Thanks for the tip.......

I had a useless cabinet next to my dishwasher (it was only about 12" wide) and was pondering a better way to store those large objects without stacking them under the oven.

I knocked the shelf (custom built cabinets) out of that little useless cabinet and put large pieces of cardboard in -the cabinet. All my large stuff, (cookie pans, pizza pans, cutting boards, broiling pans, cooling racks......) fit into the cabinet standing up and the -cardboard protects the glass cutting boards and prevents damage to the stick proof coating on the pans.
