Rubbermaid Boxes For Christmas Decorations

Years ago I bought two of those Christmas Rubbermaid type boxes. You know the kind, red with a green lid (they were on sale). I then went to the package store and asked for a couple of empty boxes with dividers. I put these inside the Christmas boxes and use different sections for similar ornaments. Each item can be wrapped and by putting the heaviest ones on the bottom there is less chance of damage. I can sort them by size/color/type depending on how much space I have. The "empty" spaces between the outside of the cardboard boxes and the inside of the Christmas box I fill with the tree skirt, bags of hangers, etc.

It makes things easier and is much cheaper than buying those special decoration boxes. With the holidays just around the corner it might be worth getting a couple of boxes and while it's nice to have them color coded red/green for Christmas and orange/black for Halloween, plain colors are generally cheaper. You can always use a cheap packet of stickers to decorate them so you can tell them apart.
