Instead of buying bag clips, I use a clothes pin to keep the bag closed. I also use clothes pins on hangers to hang skirts and pants.

I agree. Clothes pins are waaay cheaper than the "chip clips." You can get a bag full of the spring-clip clothes pins for what a single "chip clip" costs. We'd be using rubber bands if we hadn't been given a couple of "chip clips" free.
