Waterproof a Leaky Vase With a Plastic Bag

Gold Post Medal for All Time! 519 Posts

You can make a leaky or non-waterproof container suitable to use as a vase by using a plastic bag as a liner and filling the bag with water. I have a beer stein that is very pretty, but it does leak. So to use it as a vase, I put a narrow newspaper bag in it, and filled the bag with water. The bag also helped support the flowers inside!

You can also seal cracks with melted candle wax if you will use it as a vase. Next time you use a candle, wait until some wax pools in the top & pour a little bit down into the vase & roll it around until it covers the crack.
