Removing Silly Putty from Hair?

Someone please tell me how to get silly putty out of my little sister's hair.

Try some peanut butter or cooking oil. rub it on the hair and then comb until it combs off. Good luck!

I got (super-duper sticky) scar putty in my hair from my Halloween costume and actually found the putty after my shower! I got it out instantly with real mayonnaise and re-washed my hair. :)

I just got home from work to discover my 5 year old hiding because she had put putty in her hair because she wanted to see how it looked in the mirror. Tried the peanut butter, the baby oil and then the cider vinegar. But none of them really worked very well. So I put a towel over her eyes - had her tilt her head back and put baking soda on the putty and then the cider vinegar.

It bubbled up and when it stopped I was able to rub the putty out of her hair, then followed it up with shampoo and repeated about 3 times before all of it was gone. Her hair falls well below her shoulders so I was happy to get it out so quickly. It didn't hurt her skin at all and she was happy that I was able to take care of it so quickly.
