Easy Outdoor Bird Feeders and Baths

Clean an empty 2 liter bottle. Replace the cap and cut a hole on the side close to the top. For a feeder, cut a hole on both sides of the bottle. Tie a shoe string around the neck of the bottle and tie on a sturdy branch. Fill the bottle with bird seed, or water for a bath.

NOTE: Be sure to clean out the water daily to prevent bacteria from forming and mosquitoes from nesting.

Another easy feeder is take a piece of dry toast, spread peanut butter or honey on both sides, and then roll it in bird seed. Draw a string through the center and hang from a tree.

Have any sunflowers left over from your garden? Hang the flower part from a sturdy tree branch by tying a string around its stem (cut stem leaving 4 inches from the head) and let the birds feast on the seeds.

Happy Bird Watching!

I admire the inginuity of problem solvers who look to make with what you already have. Thanks so much for the tips. My backyard birds will get even more food.
