Frugal Rubber Duck Baby Shower Idea

winner.jpg On July 3rd, I had a baby shower for a Niece. Being on a tight budget I have to STRETCH every dollar. She loves RUBBER DUCKS for the baby, so I chose this as a theme.

Plates, cups and napkins came from the Dollar Tree as did Tablecloths and miniature candy bar favors, for which I made outer labels saying IT'S A BOY!!

I molded tiny candy favors in the shape of Ducks. The stuffed animals and toys were all bought from yard sales and thrift stores. Invitations were made and printed using 33 cent cardstock paper and embellished with 33 cent ribbon. Total cost of decorating supplies and favors is $21.

I will bake and decorate a Suzi's Zoo cake and a sheet cake, which will cost about $5 and punch will probably be around $6. ESTIMATED GRAND TOTAL $32.00. PROOF that you can host a nice baby shower for under $35.00!

We are having a DUCK shower for a girl at work. I have bought tons of little rubber ducks and a Duck bathtub and will place the punch bowl inside it. I bought several stuffed ducks after easter for $1 each and a couple of news ones at Goodwill $1. I bought Duck confetti soap and will use it on the tables and I found cute Duck material clearanced at Joann's Fabrics for $1.50 a yard. I found Duck's you use to keep from slipping in the bathtub and will stick them to my dishwasher and Microwave since they are so cute and I glued magnets to two wooden ducks from Hobby Lobby to stick on the front door. I also found a remnant of Duck material for .88c and cut out each duck and glued a magnet on those to put on my refrigerator.

We will have lot's of Duck's sitting everywhere. My sister's best friend just threw a duck shower and loaned us ton's of cute stuff. So my sisters and I have decided we will put everything up and just reuse it for lots of baby showers since we seem to throw them pretty often. Now everyone will have a duck theme boy or girl we'll just change up a few things. I am looking forward to the shower I think it will be really cute in the DUCK theme. I'll post pictures after the shower. Thanks for the ideas!
