For the past couple of years, Deeli and I have shared the web site for an eagle cam located in Norfolk Botanical Gardens in Norfolk, Virginia.

I have been watching the eagles for several years and each year has been different. This should be an even more exciting year to watch the eagles as sound has been added to the eagle cam.

I hope you will join us in watching the eagles. Deeli is better than I in telling all about the eagles so I hope she will be adding a lot of comments and sharing pictures from the web site.

Just in case you missed the link above here it is again to watch the Norfolk Botanical Garden Eagle Nest :-) And, yes, it looks as if it's going to be an extra exciting season this year not only because there is sound is now but also because Dad Eagle is choosing a new lady friend for nesting season! He's choosing a new lady because sadly his mate of many years was tragically killed by a jet plane landing last year:

I hope you will join Litter Gitter, Barbara, myself and thousands of people from around the world in becoming loyal viewing NBG eagle fans :-)

PS - Four females have been vying for Dad's affection over the past couple of months. It looks as if #4 is winning out ;-) I'll post a photo of her soon.

Thanks Deeli. I hope you will also post some pictures.

I just want to add, for our Thrifty Fun friends, when you pull up the web site, click on the moderated discussion and the video. You can read about what is happening while the video is loading.

Things have been kind of slow at the nest this year because dad has been busy courting. Once an egg is laid and hatches, this eagle cam is so exciting to watch. When eagles mate, it is for life so I guess he's got to choose which one it will be.

The size of the nest is approximately 6 feet in diameter and from the center down approximately 4-5 feet. That's huge.

We have an eagle cam here in northern Iowa also that everyone is watching. The eggs are about to be hatched so if you are interested in observing another, here is the link.

Thanks Laniegirl. This site is awesome!! I bookmarked it so I will have easy access.

Hearing the birds singing makes me feel like I'm outside while on the computer. I clicked it down to the bottom and am listening while looking at Thriftyfun.

I don't know if we are going to have eggs at the Norfolk site or not. Most of the time when I pull it up I don't see the eagles but yesterday afternoon it got pretty exciting.

I'm watching the Iowa Eagle Cam that Laniegirl posted the web site for in her comment below. I just discovered, while listening to the cam and searching Thriftyfun, I can move the mouse arrow back over the website at the bottom of my screen and see a small picture of what's going on.

I heard a thump and looked and saw that the other eagle had come to the nest so I just switched over to that sight and watched them change shifts. This is amazing.
