Saving on Meals at Disneyworld

While making our travel plans to Disneyworld, we were encouraged by other family members to purchase their meal tickets as we were staying on site. Each person is issued a breakfast, snack and dinner ticket for each day you are staying. I can't tell you exactly how much was saved but, our son, daughter - law and two children figured they saved at least $75.00 a day alone .

Also, if you want to go to any particular restaurant you should be making reservations a couple of months ahead of time. Boma's in Animal Kingdom Lodge was superb.

Hi Jane,
I have little tidbit of info most people probably are not aware of. You can bring your own food and drink into the Disneyworld park. My family and I packed a large soft icechest with our breakfast and lunch, snacks, and juiceboxes and water for the day. We were using a stroller for my youngest at the time so we packed it in the bottom of the stroller basket. We usually went back to the hotel for something later in the day.

I didn't know about this until a friend told me about it (We lived in FL for 3 years). We would usually eat at either a bench or even one of the covered areas in the park. We got some strange looks from people. Probably they were wondering why they didn't do the same thing. Made our visit to the park even more frugal and enjoyable.

A friend just recently shared this site with me.

You can search for restaruant by where you will be going, and then you buy a discounted certificate. I purchased a $25 certificate for $10

This could be helpful as well, no matter where you go.

We did the Disney meal package last year, and I don't think I would do the meal plan again. You have to make reservations for sit down meals, and the times can be limited. I for one want to eat when I'm hungry, not by a schedule.

Plus, the menu options are limited. You would be better off packing snacks and drinks, splitting counter service meals, and going off property for sit down meals.
