I know that new Mothers are VERY hesitant about anything us OLD FOLKS reccommend, but honestly this works. Doctors aren't there when a young mother is dealing with a screaming baby. My Mother suggested this when my oldest had colic for nearly 3 months.

I want to add for safeties sake to let the hot water cool to body temperature before giving this to the baby. Another way to do this is to use peppermint tea instead of the candy. That way they get the peppermint without getting any sugar. Peppermint tea is very soothing and good for stomach upsets.

This really works. I used it 26 years ago for my extremely colicky son. Something else that helps is wrapping a baby's belly snugly with a receiving blanket or anything that's about that size and holding him against you. I learned this from a friend who takes care of babies in the hospital.

I have heard this about peppermint, also my sis says wrap baby like a taco, the warmth of that blanket helps so much.
