Buy Dog Food at Feed Store

One of my dogs has an allergy to corn grain. For many years I thought she was just really itchy from fleas. I would comb her every night, sprayed the yard, and had her on Frontline Plus, and she still chewed on herself and had an awful coat.

Without going into much detail, I changed her to lamb and rice food, and she now has a gorgeous coat that is super soft and thick. The only problem was my other two dogs were absolutely positive that Rosie was getting something so much better than they had. So now all 3 of my dogs now get lamb and rice, which is pretty darn expensive.

I went from paying $22.00 for 40 pounds of dry dog food to $50.00 for 35 pounds of dry food. I tried all different brands of lamb and rice, and the only difference was some were more expensive than others.

I met a lady in the grocery store who told me that she buys her dog's food at the same place she buys her horse feed, so off I went to the Mill and bought a 40 pound bag of Diamond Lamb and Rice for $27.

My dogs love it and I noticed an even bigger difference in all their coats. I have to admit it was a very fascinating place to wander around with all sort of animal, farm, and gardening supplies. Their prices were half the price on the same items that I use to buy at PetSmart.

I don't know if there's a technical name for places that sell horse feed but I was completely overwhelmed with all the cool stuff. I sort of felt like I was stepping back into the 60s, and I'm really looking forward to the next time I need to go buy some more dog food.

Great choice. Never buy any pet food at the grocery aisle as it all has corn, wheat and soy usually as the first ingredients. All are allergens and garbage food. Google info about Purina and others using euthanized animals from the pounds (so called shelters) as part of the protein. Millions of pounds of dog and cat meat in your pets food. The poison used to euthanize does not cook off.

See the proof when you Google. At the same time, look up dangers of vaccines - vaclib.org - see the ingredients of mercury, aluminum, anti-freeze, formaldehyde, rotting animal parts and other. For health of your pet, research before you agree to advertisement and bull from your big pharma. Many veterinarians are saying no to vaccines, as are parents of schoolchildren. Build immune system with good food and good care. They give so much in return. Best friend you will ever have.

Where I live they are called Feed Stores. And they are always fun to shop. When I was putting my first aid kit together I ran down to the Feed Store to get some Vet Wrap... it is so much better than what the drugstores sell.

While I was there I found some great hiking boots that I hadnt seen anywhere else. Neither my daughter or I need nuch of an excuse to walk through the Feed Store.

Feed stores sell all kinds of feed. Usually you won't find one right in a city because no one has hogs, horses, chickens or other livestock or the need for bails of alfalfa or straw. You will usually find them where there are horse stables.

I like Diamond Brand foods. Their dry cat food is really good too.

Lots of animals are allergic to corn & wheat. Some dogs will get the greasy seborhea (?) It's awful.

I have lots of dogs and feed them Attaboy...get them in the 50lb bags. They're the same company that makes the dog cookies found in most grocery stores.

The food industry is killing all of us. They put corn in everything and even feed it to cows who really should be fed grass. Rent the movie "Food Inc." you'll be horrified. I know for a fact that Greyhound dogs are fed "4 D" meat which stands for: diseased, down, drugged & dieing animal carcasses. You can't convince me that the big commercial dog food company's don't use that same meat in their products.

I started cooking chicken & vegetables for my dogs. I didn't notice any difference in the amount of money it cost me because chicken is so cheap. My dogs lived to be 12 yrs old while other dogs (same breed) were fed commercial dog food died at the age of 9 years! I think it's time we ask ourselves why are our dogs being stricken with cancer so much? Check the food you feed them.

Just wanted to mention, we were at a Feed Store last month, and they sold raw food, with no grains, ground with the bone and organs in it for dogs. Some had veggies added. The price was decent. $2 a pound.

Great idea! Most people have a hard time feeding themselves and their pets and have to give them away. Maybe this will help keep alot of pets at home.
