Homemade Powdered Sugar

I make my own powdered (confectioner's) sugar. I whirl it in small amounts (1/2 cup or less) for a few seconds, maybe a minute, in the blender or food processor. I think it's cheaper than buying it. Since I always have sugar, I don't have an "extra box" sitting around, either.

I've been making my own powdered sugar for many years now. I add a small amount of cornstarch to keep the powdered sugar from clumping up.

The cornstarch also helps in recipes as a thickener.

Do you mean to use regular granulated sugar and just place it in the food processor or blender, huh, I would not have thought that would work! I will try it! Thanks!

Yep add cornstarch, some recipes rely on that cornstarch that powdered sugar has in it!

I used this method to make homemade powdered sugar for my grandson and left out the cornstarch due to him having food allergies to corn!

This worked perfectly for me with only 1 tsp of cornstarch instead of 1 Tbsp. Thanks!
