Here's a sunny bunch of yellow primulas to brighten your day! They are just so nice right now, while the mauve ones are getting done. It is nice when different colors come at other times, so we always have something pretty to see!
Unfortunately, the sow bugs really love them too, but I found that some Ant Kill powder gets rid of them pretty good! For the slugs, I put crushed eggshells around. You can also spray the slugs with a mixture of half and half sudsy ammonia and water. It won't hurt the flowers or plants, but sure gets all the baby slugs hiding in the flowers where mommy put them! I have slugs crawl out of a salting, but they won't from this spray!

Are they bulbs that come back every year? Or are they perennials? They are so pretty!! Do they have a scent?

Hi Kathy, Primulas are perennials & keep spreading, so you can divide them & have more. They don't have a scent that I know of, unless there are some rare species that do. They do come in many colors & are pretty hardy. They only bloom in spring. I hope you get some & try them. Where do you live? Ask at your garden center if they will survive there or look around your neighbours yards, they would maybe divide theirs & give you some. Have fun!
I have some purple ones that the slugs just love. They don't seem to bother the red or yellow ones but love the purple. Thanks for sharing your lovely spring flowers.
