Straw Hat Snowman

This snowman can hang on a wall indoors or on an outside door instead of a wreath. It's very easy to make.

You will need:

  • a straw hat (any size you prefer)
    Ad

  • craft paint in blue, white and pink
  • pompoms in 2 sizes, small for the face, large for the earmuffs
  • chenille stem
  • snowflake embellishments - I bought mine in the ribbon department by the yard, you can also use the sequin type or self-stick foam cut-outs
  • ribbon or material for a scarf

Directions:

  1. Paint the raised part of the hat white, as well as a section of the flat part.
  2. Paint the sky blue.
  3. Give him/her pink cheeks.
  4. Glue on black pompoms to make the face.
  5. Glue two large pompoms on either side of the face for earmuffs and glue on the chenille stem to go over the head.
  6. Glue on snowflakes around the face and add a ribbon or material to serve as a scarf.
  7. I then hot-glued some string on the back for hanging.

Sandy, Totally awesome! What a perfect craft for young crafters, such as Scouts, to do for a nursing home or for children's hospital unit for on the doors.

Those are so cute! I just love them. How nice for a winter theme after we've taken down the Christmas decorations. Nice work!
