Easy to Remember Passwords

I don't use many different screennames to keep it simple, but here is how I remember my passwords. I write them down, and carry most in my wallet, but I disguise them with words and numbers that only I would know or understand (or my family would either know or could find out, in case of my demise and they would want to get into my bank account).

For example: my password might be: littlest niece's middle name, year mom died, and name of my first cat) = Lindsey2001Kitty. Or another: color of my car, year I started this job, and my best friend's last name = red2010angela. You get the idea.

My fail safe way to remembering passwords is to use the same one for all websites. I also use the same user name if at all possible. I have found that I use 1 silly user name for silly sites and 1 more professional name for serious sites. In the case of the password I change this every 6 to 8 months, but in doing this I only have to remember 1 password and if I haven't been back to a site in that time frame it's still easy to remember previous password.

I always use 1 capital and a set of letters and numbers usually get a pretty good password score this way. Using letters and numbers that mean something to me only.

Everyone says this is dangerous. But, if it works for you it works for you.

This is a very good idea! When I write down my debit card numbers in my little "cheat sheet" book, I write them down backwards. Only I and my daughter and grandson know.
