Savings for Senior Citizens

Did you know that many fast food places, restaurants, and other retail outlets offer a senior discount? Most restaurants that I go to give a 10% discount, and many of the fast food chains will either give you at least a 10% cash discount or a free drink with no minimum purchase. All you have to do is just ask, and 99% of the time you will get it!

Hi Las Vegas Angel,
You are so right! Not only do you get the savings, the clerks are so friendly and will even suggest other places you might not think of to obtain those blessed senior discounts. Ask and ye shall receive!

I live in Houston, Tx. and there are several stores that give seniors discounts. One is our local Krogers stores, if you have a Kroger shoppers card they give you a 10% discount on certain items you purchase plus the regular discount you get from using your card.

There is also a Mrs. Bairds Thrift store that give seniors discounts and on Wednesdays for every $2.00 you spend you get 1 free item off of their free item rack so if you spend $6.00 you would get 3 items free off of their free item rack.

I have gotten things like Sunmaid Cinnamen Swirl Raisin Bread, Mrs. Bairds (5) count Box of Cherry Pies, Mrs. Bairds Dinner Rolls, Hamburger Buns and Sandwich Rolls, A large Mrs Bairds Powered Suger Donuts and several others items.

We all need all the help we can get so I hope these 2 items help you.

Here in Mississippi we have restaurants called "Huddle House." They give senior discounts if you ask for them. Another restaurant is Shoney's.

Most restaurants will give you senior discounts if you ask them, doesn't hurt to ask.

Your idea is a great idea but because I have to be so careful with what I eat because of additives in everything from food to health and beauty aids to cleaning products. I never eat out. What we do is buy bulk when it is on sale (My husband was able to get 3 pkg. of pork chops one day for $0.59 a pound. We still have a lot of them in our freezer. It was a mistake by the store but when my husband showed them they said they are yours for that price. We also shop when the one store on the first Saturday of the month because they give us a discount for being veterans on the first Wednesday of the month they give a discount to Seniors. Check your stores
