When you hang out socks on the clothesline, which is the best way to do it so the tops don't stretch out?

My mom always hung them by the toes. During hot weather she hung them in pairs.

Hang them by the toe - this way it saves from the socks from stretching out.

Toes as suggested or just fold at the halfway mark. I never make socks into balls, I always lay the pair together and fold in half because it doesn't stretch top and they stack nicely.

Instead of hanging them on the line, hang them on a folding clothes drying rack. I also use my rack for hanging underwear and washcloths. Since I don't have a gas/electric dryer, everything has to be hung up.

hang by the toes. Hanging by the top pulls on the elastic and they wear out faster.

You should always hang clothes by their biggest part to dry it quicker. They are not dried just by the wind or the sun but also because the water goes down and drops to the ground. If you hang jean by the legs maybe you will save time on ironing because it will straighten the legs but it will take more time to dry as the water will concentrate at the bottom.

Gravity laws are everywhere even when drying clothes.
