If you are chopping nuts with a knife, you can make them easier to chop by putting them in the oven for 5 to 10 minutes at 300 degrees F (149 C) before chopping them. A quick way to chop nuts is to put them in a plastic bag and hit them with a mallet or roll over them with a rolling pin.

Instead of using a mallet, I go over the bag full of nuts with a rolling pin.
Put your nuts of any kind, that you want broken up in a ziploc bag, put the bag in front of your car tire and drive over it and then back but this only needs to be done one time. Guarenteed minced nuts for your ice cream sundaes! It can't get any easier can it? Although some folks may not own a car so I do like your idea too so thanks for sharing it in here with us.
