When you go to a store or a restaurant and have multiple coupons, consider sharing with other guests. My husband and I recently visited a restaurant and a woman offered us a coupon for $3 off our bill. It turns out that we already had the same coupon, plus an extra that expired that same day.
The woman's generosity gave us the idea to share our own coupon with a family seated nearby. They were happy to take it!

I was standing in line at Wendy's at lunch time and a young woman walked up and asked me if I'd like to share her buy one, get one free coupon. Of course I was overjoyed at saving a few pennies . We both dined for under 2 bucks each.
I love doing that! I had one for Chevy's that expired that day, we gave it to the party next to us, though I usually look for families. I also give coupons when I can and if it's a product I decide I don't want, I tuck the coupon under the item for the next person to find.
I have to say thank you for those who share. Having a family of 6 we rearly go out to eat, but when we do it is nice and it seems like someone is always giving us a coupon. So for that thank you!
I do this as well and also been given coupons. I gave an extra money off coupon for the beauty shop I go to to a family that was still waiting their turn as I was leaving. It was expiring before I'd be coming back so figured it was a good thing to share it and they were most appreciative. Little things like that can really help others and it's really "no skin off our noses" so to speak. You just have to be willing to speak to another human being.
I also leave coupons I cannot use and expire soon in the store and hopefully someone that can use finds.
I know this thread is old but my question/situation applies here. I took my mother out to lunch today at Logans and brought my stack of coupons set to expire at the end of the month. After we ordered, I played coupon fairy with the 7 extra coupons I had and would not be using...walking around and giving each nearby family a coupon. A few minutes after I was seated back at our table, a server (not the one serving us) came up and told me I needed to go take the coupons back from the people I have given them to because her manager said they couldn't honor them. I was quite taken aback and frustrated but kept my cool and calmly explained that if they were refusing to honor them, they could tell the individual customers themselves. A little while later I called the same server over and made sure she knew to honor the coupon for the elderly couple near by who had returned the coupon I gave them because they had brought one of their own....she was visibly angry and informed me that she saw me give them one since she was 'right behind me when I gave it to them'.
