Use Bleach to Remove Ink in Dryer

Make a solution of bleach and water. Completely immerse some white towels in the solution and using rubber gloves wring out most of the water from the towels. They should be just damp and not dripping. Next throw the towels in the dryer and turn it on. The bleach will take the ink out after one to two applications of this process.

After you get all the ink out, wipe the dryer down with plain water, making sure to wipe enough to remove all the bleach. Leave the dryer door open to air dry afterward. To be extra sure all the bleach is removed after cleaning you can run whites through the next dryer cycle.

Tried the other ideas. They work yet, time consuming. It's 1 am and I'm using towels. Ink almost all gone. Thank you!

Bleach does not work very well and the residual could ruin your clothes. BUT, acetone (nail polish remover is usually mostly acetone and walmart has one in their brand that is 100% acetone) works like magic! No scrubbing, just wipes ink right off and it takes any other residual film off of the dryer walls too.

I used heavy duty, chemical-resistant gloves. You don't have to, but just know it is pretty strong stuff and will be a little hard on your skin, and of course, strip your nail polish off. Also, it will "melt" ordinary rubber gloves.

I didn't want to wait to see if the towels would work. I started using finger nail polish remover while my boyfriend went to the store to get bleach. It worked wonderfully but make sure to open some windows to get the fumes out, otherwise its not fun. Going to try to salvage the load of clothes now.

The finger nail polish works wonderfully!! That said the first polish remover did not- tried another brand - it made it disappear. Wash with soap and water - rinse well to remove all traces of alcohol which is highly flammable!!!Also well ventilate room and try not to put head inside while cleaning fumes are very strong!

This worked extremely well on the metal backplate (non stainless steel) of the dryer! It even removed the black ink from the plastic parts in the dryer that household cleaner did not remove.

i used one part bleach to one part water for the towels and ran them through a 30 minute dryer cycle. Only needed to do this once.

I was skeptical but boy did this ever work!! First I removed a million blue ink stains from the inside gray metal drum with a lot of scrubbing with a Magic Eraser. But it wouldn't take it off the inside white trim, until I did the above method with four white bath towels in a mixture of one part bleach/2 parts water on the highest dryer setting. All the stains came off the white metal trim including inside of door and back of drum!!! I wonder if I wasted my time using the Magic Erasers first, maybe the bleach water towels alone would have done the trick.
