Oatmeal-Wheatgerm Dog Biscuits

Bronze Post Medal for All Time! 172 Posts

The main reason I like this is because it is so much healthier for pets than the store bought biscuits.

Servings: 60
Time:10 Minutes Preparation Time
60 Minutes Cooking Time

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups whole wheat or rye flour
  • 3 cups oatmeal
  • 1/2 cup regular wheat germ
  • 6 Tbsp. melted bacon drippings or margarine
  • Advertisement

  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 cup water.

Note: You can use the whole can of evaporated. milk and only 1/2 cup water if you don't want an open can of milk in refrigerator.

Directions:

Mix the dry ingredients. Add remaining ingredients and blend until well blended. Dough will be stiff.

Chill for 1/2 hour. Take teaspoons of dough and form into balls. Flatten and place on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake one hour at 300 degrees F.

Note: You can also buy dog biscuit shaped pans if you want to give them for gifts. But I am sure the dog won't care!
