Use Hair Clip for Recipe Cards

Gold Post Medal for All Time! 969 Posts

Since my hair is now short and likely to stay that way, I find uses for these wonderful clips all over the place. This one is for recipe cards. You can sit in on a shelf or microwave for "eye level" sight and cook away!

I have used them for receipts on the desk, place cards at a party (the ones with the flatter "bottom" work best for that), and for displaying photos at reunions. They are cheap to get to if you just don't have any around to use, at the Dollar Tree and thrift stores.

N-JOY!

Love your idea for the hair clips. I was looking at mine just yesterday and wondering what I could use them for, as my hair too, is now short.

I also liked what I could make out of the recipe shown in the pix-and wondered if you might share it in the near future. I like to keep different muffins and breads on hand for a quick breakfast, and am always on the look-out for new ones.

I have posted the recipe since this original post, but will do it again just in case some of you missed it. I won first prize for the 2011 Oregon State Fair for these, and will resend a photo.

Thanks!

Cream of Chicken Soup Muffuns 400 degrees F for 20 min.
2 cup flour
3 Tbsp. baking powder
1 Tbsp. salt
½ cup white sugar
1 egg
½ cup milk (2% is best)
¾ cup applesauce
½ cup cream of chicken soup
½ cup shredded chicken (left over is best)
½ cup grated carrots
1 small sweet onion, chopped
½ cup chopped olives
1 tsp. dried parsley

Cook onion and carrots in skillet till golden, set aside to cool. In large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.

In another bowl, whisk egg, milk, applesauce and soup. Combine with dry ingredients and add chicken, olives and parsley. Fill greased or lined muffin tins 2/3 full.

Note: I made muffin tops, so the pans are individual. I filled them as seen in photo, about enough to cover the bottom of pan and spreading out a bit towards the top.
