This is yummy! I'm a real asparagus lover, so this one is a big hit with me.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups carrots or 5 medium, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced

  • 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen asparagus
  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 cup American cheese shredded or 1/4 jar Cheese Whiz
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • dash pepper
  • 1 can french fried onion rings

Directions:

Cook together carrots and onions until almost tender, and drain. Cook asparagus separate until almost tender. Drain. Melt together butter and flour, and add milk. Remove from heat. Add cheese, salt and pepper. Place half of vegetables in bottom of casserole then half of sauce. Repeat layer. Top with onion rings. Bake at 350 degrees F until brown about 15-20 minutes.
