Check in your county for recycling options. Most have a collector for tin cans. I called my local scrap metal business and they accept tin cans also. I had been taking my soda cans to my local SPCA as they collect them for the money for the animals. So now I give them my tin cans as well. I'm always trying to find ways to help them out.
If you don't want the bother of recycling them yourself, there's always someone on FreeCycle willing to take anything off your hands. The best part? They'll come get them!
Doesn't your town have recycling? We have to put tin cans, glass and plastic containers in a recycle bin which is collected.

Cut the ends off, flatten them, and use then for shingles on a shed or dog house.
