Where I have to store my crockpots and cookers is dusty. I have found that if I use old pillowcases and twist the end over, it prevents from having to major clean before using the appliance. I still rinse off the lid and clean out inside but it saves considerable cleaning time. And if someone needs to borrow it and is standing right there when you get it out, it is not covered in groddy junk.
You could go a step further and do some kind of tie with a tag stating what it is. Hope this is as helpful to someone as it has been to me. I look for shabby chic type cases at garage sales, thrift stores, etc., or make the covers from old sheets, material, tote bags etc.

What a Great Idea! I will use left over pieces of material that I don't want for quilts to make size appropriate cases. I store my extra cookware in my breezeway in my old kitchen cabinets and this is a perfect idea If you don't have them sitting out you could use a sharpie type pen to label them.
You can also use them to store your large pots and pans in that you do not use all the time.
I store mine in the boxes that they come in. Easy to see what it is and also you can stack them, for more storage.
This is such a good idea! So much better than fighting with the plastic bags that I've been trying to fit the appliances in! Plus if it does get dusty, you can throw them in the wash! I'm going to switch everything to pillow cases right now!
Using the boxes is too late for me, but it is a good idea to remember for the future.
I think using old pillowcases this way is a great idea. I have lots of them and was just getting to give them all away.
This is a very good idea, thank-you for posting it. I have a couple of old bed sheets I can use to make the pillow cases, too.
I have tried storing things in the original carton but it hasn't worked all that well for me-try repacking a small appliance you use once or twice a week in the original packing and carton, it can be frustrating struggling with all that pre-formed foam, lol!
