Cleaning Red Stain on Linoleum Floor?

I have a linoleum floor that has a pink stain on it. It looks like something drained out of the dishwasher onto the floor, Kool-Aid? Not sure. I think it's been there for a long time. I've tried Mr. Clean eraser, bleach, and ammonia, all separately, nothing works.

Sounds like you've tried them ALL!

Here's one more thing that MAY work: Dyehouse Color Remover

or this:

* Read the detailed directions at the very bottom of the pages.

Once you DO remove it, sealy your floor with a product called "Future" it's sold at Walmart

PS. If your stain is NATURAL (like cherry, raspberry or cranberry juice (& NOT artificial like cherry Kool-aid or Jell-O) then start by pouring hydrogen peroxide on the stain & letting it sit about 10 minutes & fizz. If it's organic, it SHOULD work, but not of it's an artificial food coloring.

---> A note: Almost everybody uses the terms "Linoleum & Acrylic" interchangeably. But most flooring is really Acrylic & not actually Linoleum. If your floor is REALLY Linoleum & not Acrylic flooring, then Linoleum is made from Linseed oil & sawdust. It's a natural & porous material (which should be sealed), if it's actually Acrylic, then it usually isn't porous because it's not a "natural" product, but more like plastic & comes with a bonded-on plastic coating. Linoleum was made in America from the late 1800's up until the 1960's when Acrylic flooring (& plastics) came into production, but very recently they started using Linoleum all over again, especially for people who have allergies & people who want a "natural" & biodegradable product.

The summer that I replaced all the linoleum in my kitchen I also attempted my first batch of Grape Jelly. The jelly turned out fantastic, but the juicer had leaked all over my new white and blue floor.

I had just discovered a new (at the time) product: LA'S Awesome (this is a yellow liquid in a spray bottle that sells for a dollar each you can get it at Dollar General, Family dollar, and Dollar Tree).
It took every BIT of the grape stain out (mind you this had leaked down behind the counter where I didn't see it until several hot days later). Good stuff. You might try that.

My roommate had to replace some frozen, burst PVC pipes behind the tub enclosure this past winter. He used some dark purplish red stuff that had to be put onto the threads of the pipes to keep them from leaking when it dried. Well....you guessed it! He got it on the floor in several places and it stained badly. I couldn't get it up with anything I had on hand.

So, I bought some acetone and put some on a paper towel and it came right up. The flooring is separate pieces of squares that adhere to the floor by pressing down on them. I don't know what the make up...(acrylic or linoleum) is considered. Anyway, the floor looks as good as new and it didn't hurt the finish either!

This is weeks late in coming. But it maybe a form of mold growing up from under the flooring. It has happened in my Mom's bathroom after a minor flood. We got up all the water and dried everything and then a while later this spot appears it is a mishappen crecsent moon. So I had to call the homeowners for a different issue and they had to past her bath and he saw it and I explained what happended. He told it was mold under the floor and the floor was ruined. He put it a claim for it right then and there.

Just a thought.
