Getting Tar Off a Vinyl Floor

The problem I had is someone tracked tar onto your vinyl floor. The solution was to rub some butter or margarine on the tar, then wipe it up with a dry cloth. This trick even works on some carpets; thoroughly remove all evidence of the residue with a foamy carpet cleaner.

you can rub tooth paste on the tar to remove it. then just wash floor as usual.

Takes a little elbow grease but worked like a charm! Plus it left my kitchen minty fresh!
