Does Smooth Away remove belly hair?

I bought this product at Bed Bath and Beyond about a month ago for $9.99. I have sensitive skin, but I followed the instructions to the letter, and when I tried it the frst time it left my legs smooth and reasonably hair free. I was afraid to try it on my face, though, because of the sensitivity issue.
This past Monday, I used the product for the second time on my legs, not anticipating any problems based on the success of the first use. I was not sunburned or otherwise irritated at the time that I used it, though in the afternoon of the same day, after I used it, I did spend some time in the sun. I wasn't "sunbathing," though, just outdoors in the sunshine. I was fine until that evening, when I noticed a horrible, intense itching on my calves and shins where I used the product. So painful and itchy that it actually woke me up in the night and has continued to do so!
I saw this at a grocery store for $9.99 and wanted to try it. I saw the, "As Seen On TV" sticker and decided to check reviews online, first. Well, before I could do that, I saw the exact same product at Dollar Tree! It was called, Lassy Legs. It cost one dollar. Why the heck not, right?? Well, I'm glad I didn't pay ten bucks for it, but I'm also glad I tried it. I tried it first on my recently shaved legs. It did nothing on my knees, but noticeably smoothed my calves. Then I tried it under my arms which had been shaved about a week ago. Um, ouch. It actually made me bleed and didn't remove any hair. It hurt/burned for hours afterward. Immediately afterward I put hydrocortisone cream on it, which burned briefly. That reduced the redness, but the pain lasted a few hours until I put some antibacterial ointment on. It doesn't hurt anymore, but I will not be using it under my arms again.
I'm going to try again (in my bikini area) after taking a shower (so the warm water opens my pores a bit) and following immediately with the antibacterial ointment. Everything the negative reviews said is true, but for one dollar, I got a big pad and a little pad, plus 4 of each size papers. If I can keep the redness/burning at bay, and even if I only use it on my bikini area, it will be worth it. I'm shaking my head at all those who spent sixty dollars for this. My advice? Try your local Dollar Tree! :)
The only thing smooth away removed for me was skin. When I was trying this on my face I had to rub my face so hard that I thought I was going to rub my skin off. And on my legs, no hair was removed from my legs using this. Complete waste of $13.00 plus tax. I should have just went to my local hardware store and bought a piece of sand paper for $1.00, because that's what this thing felt like on my face and legs.
I bought this thing at a flea market under the name of Sundepil, in German packaging. After research, I found it is the same product as Smooth Away. I thought, for $2.00, why not? I have facial hair, which is what I wanted to get rid of. This WORKED! Within 2 minutes! My chin hasn't felt so smooth in a couple of years! I was plucking every day. I'll never do it again. No irritation, just a smooth face. I'm tempted to go and get 10 more!!
I haven't tried it on my legs or anything, I'm just happy for the results so far.
It didn't work well on my legs but you can use a very fine emery cloth and it will work the same.
I just had to sign up to write a review. Careful because not only do companies have reviews written for them, but also the competition has negative reviews written, making it very confusing. The shaving companies ain't gonna like these guys. lol
This is actually an ancient hair removal technique that most simply don't know about. The secret is now out ! I have very sensitive skin and coarse hair. Works very well for me. I use Aveeno moisturizer immediately afterward to avoid any irritation.
You have to rub your skin to open the pores first and then be very gentle when using the pads. I also suggest trying it first on a spot before going further to make sure that you will have no reactions.
I have to continue the next day to some stubborn hairs off, but this is less a problem since I've been using it regularly. My hair is now thinner and easier to take off. So, I'd say to simple be gentle and patient. You will love this once you get use to it.
For those who have very coarse hair, using some wax or nair a few times before might help as your hair will be smaller and thinner. Don't pay the high shipping, get in a store, or ebay or Bonanzle online for cheaper. I find that the cheaper versions I have tried work just as well.
This product did nothing but waste my money. Well, maybe my skin felt a little smoother, but it didn't remove any hair at all! A big disappointment, it went in the trash.
Waste of $$$. I paid $10 at the store for this, used it once on my upper lip, firmly, but not overly so. Hair came off, yes. My lip the next day though, was scabbed over!! It looks like I have a mustache made from a scab that covers my whole upper lip! Looks so disgusting that I am humiliated to leave my home! Ten thumbs down!
I got the Smoothaway on sale at Bed, Bath & Beyond as it was missing the packaging. I tested it on my arm first, and it really did work. However, on leg hair it would take absolutely for-ev-ah! I tried it yesterday on my upper lip. It did take away the hair, but seems to have taken the skin away too. My lip today feels bumpy and rough. If I had used a lighter touch, the hair would not have been gone. Overall, not worth the money or time, or irritation that occurs on sensitive areas.
Smooth Away worked for my sensitive skin and coarse hair. But to get the best results, I trimmed my upper lip hair with cuticle scissors then used Smooth Away. The shorter the hair, the easier it came off. Before I figured this out, the hair didn't come off well and I got a scab from the friction. I hope this tip helps.
I thought this product sounded like a wonderful idea, but unfortunately, even though I followed the directions closely, I also had the problem of red irritated painful rash and intense itching on my lower legs. The rash healed, but today, moths later, after only using the product the one time, the itching has continued. I have even wondered if it has done permanent damage to the nerve endings in my lower legs.
