Removing Paint on Clothing?

I have a good sweat shirt that I got paint on. What is a good remedy for removal? The shirt is white and the paint black.

If the paint is wet, you may be able to get it off with water (latex or acrylic paint) or paint thinner (oil based). If it is dry, there is nothing that I know of that will remove either kind of paint. Paint is made to be non-removable. If it came off, we wouldn't use it on our walls or paintings.

Well thankfully we don't go round spreading stuff like paint thinner or nail polish remover or any of the suggested tips for removal on our walls because we want it to stay there. thankfully it doesn't mean its un-removable just because it goes on the walls.

Thinner, Rubbing Alcohol, Spirits, Ammonia will not remove dried paint whether oil based or water based. I learned this after working 45 years managing a paint store. There is only one product sold on this earth that will remove it and it is called Save A Brush. Red Devil Paints makes and sell it and cost is about $1.50 per Bag. They used to sell it in the stores but I haven't seen it sold that way in a long time. You can order it directly from Red Devil Paints. That product has been around for over 100 years and used by professional painters for removing dried paints from their painters overalls and brushes.

Professional Painters use paint brushes that can cost 100 dollars each and more and they do not throw them away, they use Save A Brush. That is a powder you add to water and either rub it on your stain or soak it in the mix. Whatever way you use it, that is one product that actually does what it says it is supposed to do. Just for your information, Easy Off Oven Cleaner in the Blue Can will also remove paint. It dissolves it but you have to be careful of what your taking it off of. It is fine to use on just about any type of cloth. I clean my paint brushes with Easy Off when I forget them and paint has dried on them. Sold in supermarkets $6.99 can
