Better Litter Versus Cheaper Litter

Unless cheaper cat litter is a lot cheaper, which sometimes it is, it's worth paying more for a name brand. I have found over the years, after using all different brands, that the cheapest, usually the sandy kind, too, gets gummy, and has almost no odor control. I end up actually using more of it, so I'm not saving, unless it's drastically less money, which once in a blue moon it is. So look for sales, use coupons, and buy the better cat litter!

Exactly the way I feel. I buy the scoop away litter and I rarely ever empty the whole litter pan. It costs more, but it clumps so well. The other cheaper litter gets full of ammonia and the more expensive litter lasts longer. I have eight inside cats so I know!

I always look for coupons for this Litter. I like this brand too. Sometimes I go with Special Kitty cat litter at Wal-Mart

I agree. Now living in a rural area w/ limited local stores to shop, I'd been buying several boxes at a time of generic clumping litter about 14 lbs each. Had perfumes, which my allergies (& I imagine my cats) hated. Now I buy Precious Cat in 40-lb bags, online only, from Amazon. Additional other stuff thrown into my cart over at bit of time gives me free s/h at $25.

The price of the 14-lb generics was about $8/box. Precious Cat at Amazon runs about $15 for each 40-lb bag. Oh, & it's dustless & fragrance-free. So nothing wafts back up to my face as I scoop.
