If you have a few items that are in good shape and want to sell, try Craigslist.com. It's a community based website where you list your items with photos for free and people in your area look for items. I have sold a ton of my stuff here.

I clicked on the site hoping to find instructions as to how to list items, but could find nothing---am I looking in the wrong places? Do I have to have an account before I can get this info? Thanks.
First, you need to find your city on the right hand side. Then click on the category of "For Sale" that your item fits in. "For Sale" is kinda in the middle of the screen, at least for Houston. After that, there is a link in the upper right hand corner "post" click that and you can list what you want to sell.
I especially like the "FREE" section. When moving, I used the free section to give away many things that I didn't want to move. Unusual things, like 5 gal. buckets of dried clay dust... (People used this to build out door ovens with, mixed with straw & sand) This not only saved me fees at the dump, but what a WONDERFUL way to recycle & reuse!
Also, I've bought several USED CARS on Craig's List...
A note on this: You'll have to be the first, or one of the very first to call if you're interested in buying a car... That means: Check Craig's list AT LEAST twice a day!
A note about CONTRACTORS on Craig's List:
There unfortunately are mean, nasty people out there who steal from others... Lately, in the Seattle area, there has been one guy who has bid on several minor construction jobs, then asked for half down (for materials)... then taken the half down & skipped out & not completed the job. This guy changes his phone number (a throw away phone) & won't call the people back...
SO... The GOOD contractors are now advertising on the Seattle Craig's List by saying "No money UNTIL the job is complete". It's to bad they have to do business this way, but you know the deal: "one bad apple" as they say....

Just follow the instructions. If I can figure it out, ANYONE can, believe me, it's easy!
---> You can also search Craig's List: Simply log on to www.craigslist.com then go down & click on your closest city... Next, go to the area you are interested in (like "cars & trucks" or "free" or whatever) & click on that... then at the top of the page, type in the high-low prices, or any words "like distributor" (for example, if you're looking for car parts).. then click on the "Search" button. The SEARCH feature is especially handy if you are looking for a car (or house) in a certain price range.
Craigslist is fantastic! I live in a large metro area, and I have sold lots of things of all types and prices. It is widely read. I have also given away a lot of things. Try it! You'll like it!
I recently sold a hot tub I had on craigs list after only 5 days.
I enjoy the fact that craigslist is out there. Unlike ebay, craigs doesn't charge whether you sell or not. I have tons on craigslist as well as bidonusa.com under memyselfand5peoplepccom. I sell a wide variety of new and used merchandise,the site above is another site similar to ebay but free to list. Since selling on both sites, it's giving people the opportunity to find stuff they are searching for instead of paying those high prices.

I think Craigslist is a great! Just go on there and sell what you don't want anymore, lt's easy.
I finally got into the classified, put items (4) all the same on and now I can not find it or how to get into it again. On ebay I go to the listing put it on and I can always go back to it to see if it sold or selling. Here I have no idea if someone wants them or not. What do I do? I am stupid, my first time doing this by hearing so many of you saying it is the best! I can't say that. Sorry Craigslist, I wrote to you and told you about it, but till now, no reply.
I am an avid craigslister- I've sold hundreds if items, my sons have bought cars on it, I got my border collie pup on craigslist, and posted plant swaps and church events there. I've written an article about craigslisting here with some tips and tricks for posting there- an account is a good idea to start out with- and it's free!
You have to allow "cookies" to even go onto Craigslist. I do not like to do that, good luck.
Craigs list is a scam and nothing but people flagging ads for sale. I have recently put several ads on Craigs and they all get flagged off because will not lower prices. I'm helping another seller who is also having the same problem and this has been going on far to long. Can't even have a post up for more than 5 mins and it's flagged off. CL needs to start charging so that people like me will be able to sell and not worry about whether the ads are still up or not, or banish any and all flagging. I bet if they were to start charging for listing items then no one will have a reason to flag. I am not the only one who is having the problem as I have gathered up over 100 emails that were sent to me that are having the same problem.
