Before I start working in my garden, I put a thick coat of lotion on my hands then I put on my cotton garden gloves. When I finish in the garden, I pull off the gloves and have very soft hands.

I've a "problem" touching dirt, having a dreadful case of OCD. So, I too will coat my hands with a heavy layer of lotion, then use the disposable latex gloves. Then, the water proof heavy gloves as well. When I'm done, and remove all these layers, I've smooth soft very clean hands. The garden looks great, and my hands look even better!
