With every box cake I add a heaping spoonful of mayo instead of one egg to give the cake more moisture! It makes the cake better!

Grease a cake pan with butter or shortening instead of Pam or fill a small spray bottle with liquid cooking oil and spray the pans. Instead of flouring wiht flour, use powdered sugar.

It absorbes into the cake and taste great. The really wonderful thing is that I have NEVER had a cake stick.

To make a super moist box cake - better than any bakery - add one extra egg and a box of pudding mix in a corresponding flavor. I bake and decorate cakes for family and friends and to make a little extra money, and everyone raves about them. So moist and yummy. I have never baked a box cake as directed since I learned this tip.

Sour Cream added with cake mix also makes a good moist cake.Add about 2-3 tablespoons per mix.

When baking a boxed cake mix, keep a bit of the cake mix you are using aside to use instead of flour for flouring your pan after greasing it. This keeps your cake from sticking without the white residue.

Hello,
I have a recipe that calls for bake time of 80 min in a tube pan. I want to put the same recipe in mini loaf pans. Will it need to bake the same 80 min?
Thanks,
Jill

Editor's Note: Hi Jill, it will probably take much less time in mini loaf pans. I'd cut the time at least in half. When it starts smelling done, make sure you check it because it may take even less time.
