Lending Books

I lend my books a lot. In order to remember who has what book, I remove the dust jacket and place a post it note on the inside with the person's name and the date. I then place the jacket back in my bookcase. This enables me to remember who has my book and how long they have had it. Also, don't forget to write your name inside the book, so whoever has it will know who to return it to.

Bronze Feedback Medal for All Time! 156 Feedbacks

Very good idea. I use bookplates, self-gluing them in every book I buy. Guess they're not used much any more, for I recently went in Books-A-Million to purchase some, only to be told by a sweet young thing that she'd never heard of them! I then went on the Internet, but found their cost is high. So I came back home and got out my stash of return address labels. Voila! Instant and inexpensive solution. At least the borrower will see who owns the book. Couple this with your solution and the paper trail will be clear. Thanks. Cay from FL
