Identifying Tiny Almost Invisible Bugs Inside House?

I have some very tiny bugs getting in my eyes every night at dark. This is inside my home. These bugs are so tiny that I have not been able to see them, but I can sure feel them in my eyes. Sometimes I can feel them on my forehead and sometimes it feels like they land on my head.

They are called no-seeums and live off blood, hence the bites. Google noseeums, and you will find out how to eliminate them from your problem areas.

For 2 years now I've been trying to eradicate these tiny invisible insects that glitter in sunlight. I'm losing my mind. I bought a microscope and caught some to video and pic's. I posted them on YouTube and still no answer. I've sprayed everything you can think of and still the relief is temporary, like a day or 2. Then they're back. They seem to like toenails, fingernails and hair. Rarely do I feel a bite. It's the crawling in my ears at night that's driving me crazy. The pest control company said they couldn't help me because nothing they could see with the naked eye was on the glue strip.the tiny lint ball looking things have eggs in them but they dismissed that too as just lint. Idiots. Hiw does lint grow by itself in one night all over pillows blankets etc...If they only want to spray for Flys just quit. I've thrown away all my clothes, wash in 150 degree water, vacuum daily, wash sheets and pillows every other day. I've spent thousands on chemicals and with a fixed income putting them on credit card. I don't know what else to do. Dying has crossed my mind a lot. Oh yeah when you put a flame on them they spark.

My family has been infested by an insect that you can barely see. It looks like a speck of dust and another looks like a very short hair. They don't bother the boys as much as me. They seem to want to nest in my hair, on my scalp. They don't seem to bite much, but I can feel them when they land on me, and it itches! It looks like a jumping grain of sand. Does anyone know what this is?

That sure sounds like fleas, though in my experience those jumpers are bigger than dust specks (1mm+). I haven't heard of jumping mites, and dust mites in particular don't attack people; they graze on dead skin cells.

Next time you feel them landing or biting, have some sturdy tape handy to apply to the area. It should get them stuck on, and you can take them to an entomologist at a nearby university to ID them. They can be from mice, birds, bats, squirrels, raccoons, rats,...or riding in on new indoor plants, or from the garden visitors.

I don't like to use sprays of any kind, and the pyrethroids used for mites can be toxic, so I think it's best to decide which mite (if any) it is first.

It's also possible, at this distance from your experience, that it's an allergic reaction to something in the house, maybe some new product or furnishing, or kitchen addition if you react more. That's a big can of worms-- to see how varied the causes can be, look up MCS (multiple chemical sensitivities).

If after all they are fleas, you may not have seen them because the feeling was from their jumping off, not on. If you put a light-color or white dish of soapy water near a night light (lit) overnight in the areas you've felt them, they should be there in the morning.
Of course, best of luck finding out! Maybe someone here knows of this problem.

Stay away from fragrances like scented soaps & perfumes. Bugs may be attracted to you by the scented smells. Give it a try.

Possibly head lice; very difficult to get rid of. If that is what this is, you have to wash everything that your head has come in contact with. First you have to rid yourself from these, then wash all pillows, blankets, hats, scarfs, spray your beds and sofas, chairs, etc.

You can get stuff at the drug store to use on your hair.

I have had these same bugs. in my hair and my house. Have tried almost everything to get rid of them. Peroxide seems to kill them. I use it on my hair too. Alcohol kills them. Have tried lice treatments, they did nothing. Flea killer helped some. Used lysol and bleach to wash clothes and this works. Now trying sea buckthorn oil for hair, and hoping it works.

I have looked at these with a microscope and they are in fact teeny bugs. Some seem to jump or fly. I believe they are collembella/springtails. Going to treat under the house also. Not sure with what yet. Any advice will help me as well. Tea tree oil made me feel better but did not kill bugs. doctors were no help. Exterminators did not eradicate them. Still trying.

They could be a type of mite. You need to exterminate and vacuum often. If you use bags, throw them away.

I think they are from high in the sky - or can be, and are existing in a different light spectrum than the one we live & see in. I think once you have looked at them for awhile you see them better and notice them everywhere. They appear to me to be little tiny things that merge together to make a bigger one that looks the same as the tiny ones only bigger. To see them you have to video (video better than camera) them in dim light or use a tv screen that isn't switched on as a mirror and that way you can see them around your head and face moving around. They seem to fly/move using some sort of perpetual motion made to happen by each other.

I think they are able to invade us, our food, clothes etc. They seem more at home with man made type things and hate a lot of Natural products like for instance - vinegar, magnesium, ti tree, baking soda, garlic even marijuana. I know little about them really but have been aware of them for about 5 years and know other sane people who know or if prompted can see them too.
I think that altho they can't hurt you today pursee, they - over time, are responsible for disease, rust and all things detremental to man.

The closest thing I have seen to an explanation or at least a name for them is "Constable's critters". If you look at paintings and/or photo's of animals you can see them in the hair or fur they are black rodent serpant scary looking things but have the ability to go into shapes that makes them unnoticeable to those who don't know they exist.

The whole subject is incomprehensible so I seldom bother to discuss with anyone but I did go to a government scientist of an atmospheric nature and he at least told me we're not just 'seeing things' nor am I crazy but what to do about them I have no clue. They take up alot of my time.

I think you're spot on with the long term effects for sure and everything you've said.. I rarely ever comment on anything but as with u, I also find myself thinking perhaps too much about these things. They freak me out if I let them and yet I still have never seen what they actually look like..anyway you are far from crazy

They are eye mites. I finally figured it out recently and I have been trying to use a product called mite be gone. But since they normally hang out in your eye it really is not effective until you lay in bed with pure darkness. Thats when you strike! I have been dealing with it since April half my family stopped talking to me cause they think Im nuts. At least my wife is staying by me. Now time to figure out how to kill them completely!
