Makes 8 pretzels

Ingredients

  • 8 tablespoons of warm water
  • 1 tsp. granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp. yeast
  • 1 cup flour
  • a pinch of salt
  • coarse salt
  • Advertisement

  • 1 egg
  • 2-3 tsp. water

Directions

Dissolve the yeast in the warm water. Add the sugar and pinch of salt. Blend in the flour and knead until the dough is smooth. Cut the dough into 8 pieces and roll each piece into a rope. Twist the rope into a pretzel shape. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Place pretzels on foiled lined baking sheets.combine the egg with 2 to 3 tsp. of water. Brush this over the tops of the pretzels, and sprinkle them with coarse salt. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
