Toothpaste is great for scuff marks, marker on flooring, brush marks on skidoo or on the visor of helmets even when someone bumps your car and leaves some of their paint on yours. You can take a small amount about the size of a nickel and rub lightly. Toothpaste contains pumice and is gentle enough, therefore its is safe. You'll be pleasantly surprised as long as it isn't deep scratches it will make it look like new again.

Great idea, toothpaste is a nice mild abrasive. There hasn't been pumice in it for decades but micronized silica and calcium carbonate, very uniform particle size. After you brush your teeth and spit out, before you rinse, just bite the residual toothpaste to see how gritty it is. (if in fact you do rinse, you make more use of the fluoride if you just spit a lot without rinsing). If you need a lot of it, you might be money ahead to use a soft scrub type product.
Toothpaste is also a great silver cleaner too. Lather up an old soft brush or cloth and in a pinch works great.
